About the role

In this role you shape, maintain and oversee Oscar’s national value based contracting strategy, operations and Profitability Initiatives, across all our Regions and Lines of Business by working with teams across the company including data, actuarial, tech, contracting, legal, etc.

You will report to the Contract & Network Performance VP. This is a remote / work-from-home role. You must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, or Washington, D.C. Note, this list of states is subject to change. #LI-Remote

The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington is: $176,000 - $231,000 per year. The base pay for this role in all other locations is: $158,400 - $207,900 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, company equity grants and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive Oscar’s near and long term value based Contracting and Profitability strategy across a spectrum of deal types. This includes development of frameworks, tools, processes, and standards that drive overall improvement in cost and quality and training teams that will execute on desired outcomes
  • Build out tools to understand deal performance; monitor to re-align strategy based on data-driven insights; drive accountability for deal outcomes across regional contracting teams 
  • Create operational processes, workflows and playbooks to ensure standardization in deal types and hold teams accountable for executing; work with regional contracting teams and operational partners on any potential exceptions
  • Generate financial insights that will ensure Oscar’s long-term sustainability, and work with internal departments and leaders to execute on these insights.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive view of of the industry landscape, including deep dives in priority areas
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders to drive VBC line of sight and optimization. 
  • Ensure a high-quality Oscar experience for members and providers by setting  the infrastructure for Oscar to align in the right ways with providers that will improve quality and lower total cost of care

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional experience
  • Track record related to value based contracting, affordability and profitability programs - creating, executing and, monitoring contract performance across provider types
  • Consultative executive presence and ability to communicate with and lead presentations for senior leaders, and executives both internally and externally.
  • Strong experience related to  program management ownership and leading across a large cross functional team
  • A strong financial/analytical background, and the ability to quickly digest and evaluate complex financial structures and large amounts of data in order to make commercially intelligent business decisions.
  • Orientation towards designing processes systematically while being able to execute quickly within a fast-paced, fluid and goal-oriented environment.

Bonus Points

  • Experience working within a rapidly scaling organization
  • BA/BS Degree 
  • Masters in Business Administration or healthcare related field(s) preferred

Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience.
