A day in the life:

The PR & Affiliate Account Manager is responsible for leading public relations & affiliate marketing strategies and execution on various client accounts. The Account Manager leads teams by proactively assessing the needs of his/her clients and fellow team members and puts together strategic plans to set an organized cadence for completing tasks. This person should be able to efficiently execute media results that move the needle for clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage PR & affiliate client accounts and complementary cross-channel clients as the main point of contact leading client communication, strategy, reporting, and maintaining high rates of client satisfaction
  • Responsible for managing account workflow inclusive of media pitching, affiliate strategy, team deliverables, and driving results for client roster
  • Serve as resident channel expert on PR & affiliate accounts
    • Actively pursues top-tier media and in-depth feature stories for clients in consumer, business, and trade outlets
    • Has high-level contacts in every vertical, and can quickly get results for any client that is in need
  • Implement comprehensive strategies and plans for all account activities
  • Communicates “big picture” logistics and tactics to teams & clients
  • Proactively coaches junior team members on accounts and participates in wider department activities such as game plan and trainings 
  • Has a firm understanding of client budgets and KPIs
  • Employ AI technologies to enhance and optimize business processes
  • Utilize and leverage Power Digital's Nova ecosystem as it relates to your department

Role Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of client-facing media relations experience
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of leading account strategy development and team workflow as a main/day-to-day point of contact for clients
    • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
  • Robust media relations experience required
  • Strong understanding of the marketing funnel and experience working with affiliates such as: content partners/press sites, rewards sites, loyalty/cashback/deal sites
  • Understanding of affiliate best practices including: commission structures, tracking, partner optimization, paid placements, and forecasting
  • Can handle high-level crisis communications with support from department leadership 
  • Oversees account budgets and delegates tasks appropriately, having a key understanding of where team member’s time is going
  • Oversees organization of media events, partnerships, press conferences, conventions, media tours, desksides, etc.
  • Comprehensively and proactively addresses areas of weakness with account team members to help them grow and progress
    • Account Manager can effectively communicate the “why” behind feedback and edits so junior team members can continue to learn and grow
