Job Summary
The Data Platform Administrator provides administration support for key Business Intelligence, Data Processing, and Data Warehouse platforms. Administration support is provided to uphold system/security requirements, measure/optimize platform performance, and provide a portfolio of capabilities that maximizes business value. Designs, implements, and maintains high performing applications to meet the functional and cost requirements defined by leadership and architecture. Applies technical and procedural designs for applications including system specifications and programming guidelines. Demonstrates customer service by being a technical point of contact for developers, end users, and vendors. Refines the application portfolio by deprecating, archiving, and retiring applications that no longer provide business value. Competent to work in most phases of the application support lifecycle within a focused range of application types. Works mostly independently and at times requires guidance and supervision from others.
Essential Functions
- Administer, configure, and support Business Intelligence, Data Processing, and Data Warehouse platforms ensuring applications meet system requirements, architectural standards, permissions, and security compliance.
- Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of supported platforms by completing daily maintenance tasks and troubleshooting with increasing independence.
- Author documentation for user instruction and platform support. Provide on-call support for data platforms. Continually measure and optimize platform performance.
- Demonstrate high levels of customer service by being a technical point of contact for developers, end users, and vendors.
- With guidance, interpret technical specifications and apply vendor and internal standards appropriately.
- Capture, document, and refine features and stories for agile teams to maximize visibility and readiness for upcoming planning and execution.
- Refine the application portfolio by deprecating, archiving, and retiring applications that no longer provide business value while communicating with and minimizing impact to users. Competent to work in most phases of the application support lifecycle within a focused range of application types.
- Work independently and at times requires guidance and supervision from others.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate's Degree or equivalent in related field
- 1 year of relevant experience administering and supporting applications
- Able to work in an on-call rotation outside of business hours once every 14 weeks
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in related field
- 1 year of relevant experience in health care, sciences or information systems
- 1 year of relevant experience administering and supporting applications of high value and importance to Data & Analytics customers
