Accounts Payable Clerk

This position is responsible for assisting the Purchasing/Accounts Payable Clerk in the Business Office. May assist others in the Business Office.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assists with the purchasing functions; Act as a catalyst between vendors and ordering departments.
- Assists as compliance person for Higher Markets purchasing system; reviews and processes requisitions.
- Assists in distributing documents to appropriate parties.
- Initiates purchase orders if required; interfaces with the appropriate supporting documentation.
- Interfaces with the receiving department on receipt/inventory asset tagging of purchases.
- Assists in processing payments, reimbursements, credits and invoices by matching them with the correct document. (e.g. purchase order, direct pay or revolving check request).
- Processing A/R Journal Vouchers daily in the Banner system.
- Processing regional travel vouchers in the Banner system.
- Processing the Revolving Fund and management of the petty cash fund.
- Cross trains in other Business Office functions and serves as backup when needed.
- Additional workload – (not filling vacant AP position).
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Over one year of experience using computer applications or related experience. Good organizational skills plus above average oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree
- Over two years of related experience
