Job Description

Summary/objective

The Gymnastic Coach teaches age-appropriate gymnastic skills using vault, uneven bars, beam and floor equipment. The Gymnastics coach works with children ages 3-8 ensuring a safe, fun environment.

Essential functions

• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
• Teach fundamental elements of gymnastics in a fun safe environment
• Be responsible for the safe set-up of gymnastics equipment
• Communicate with participants and/or parents regarding schedule
• If unable to work, proactively seek substitutes for your shift and immediately inform supervisor of the substitution
• Be in proper Coach/Instructor uniform at all times while at work and always present the acac brand and standard anytime and anywhere the acac uniform is worn
• Ensure ongoing familiarity with acac programs to manage questions and communicate knowledgeably to acac members and guests

Requirements

Physical demands

• Must be able to successfully instruct and demonstrate proper gymnastics techniques
• Must be able to actively participate in instruction
• Must be able to move equipment, with assistance, of approximately 100 pounds and spot (catch or lift) children of approximately 100 pounds

Required competencies, education, and experience

• At least one year of gymnastics coaching experience
• High School diploma preferred
• Genuine interest in coaching children
• Must be at least 18 years old
