The International Public Affairs (IPA) Team at Edelman Global Advisory (EGA) Brussels is seeking a talented individual with experience in agency, private sector, not-for-profit organizations and/or in an EU institution to work across our existing international public and government affairs clients. As an analyst, you will be part of an experienced team to support diverse international clients and contribute to business development. We value account management background, curiosity, teamwork, excellent communication and writing skills, a keen eye for detail, a passion for geopolitics, and a desire to learn and grow in PA.
Join us in shaping international political and regulatory initiatives, building reputations, managing issues, and aligning globe-spanning PA and communications strategies for our clients. Job Responsibilities:
The precise nature of the activities will depend on the priorities and client work during the time of the placement, to be agreed. However, the responsibilities and tasks are likely to include the following:
· Assistance with daily tasks of the team on various client accounts as required. · Supporting as the day-to-day contact with clients, identifying and flagging challenges and opportunities and providing related strategic advice.· Implementing communications and outreach plans, leveraging online platforms and social media to amplify PA strategies.· Utilizing digital tools for stakeholder mapping, engagement, and monitoring, ensuring real-time updates and responsiveness.· Liaising with global PA and communications teams and coordinating the rollouts of all plans and assets.· Developing and implementing digital communications and outreach plans, leveraging online platforms and social media to amplify PA strategies.· Utilizing digital tools for stakeholder mapping, engagement, and monitoring, ensuring real-time updates and responsiveness. · Contributing to regulatory & media research and analysis on various policy developments, identifying their impact on clients, and articulating these insights effectively; reporting of relevant developments, drafting briefings, reports, updates and other forms of communication.· Supporting the organisation and preparation of materials for meetings, events or other client/stakeholders/media engagement activities.· Liaising with European and international institutions and organisations.- Attending and reporting on institutional events and debates at the EU and international levels.
Qualifications and requirements:
- 1 to 3 years of experience in PA consultancy, private sector, not-for-profit organizations and/or in an EU institution is required.- Native or native-equivalent level of English (oral and written) is required.- University degree in political science, PA, international relations, law or a related field.- Excellent analytical and written skills.- Experience working with the media (strategy, outreach, coordination) and/or a good understanding of the media landscape would be an asset.- Experience in digital public affairs, including social media strategy, online advocacy campaigns, and digital content creation.- Strong understanding of digital analytics and metrics to assess the impact of online PA initiatives.- Proficiency with digital tools and platforms, such as social media management software, online monitoring tools, and content management systems.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – a positive, reflective approach with a self-learning attitude.- Good knowledge of EU decision making processes and its stakeholders.- Ability to work under pressure and on multiple assignments.- Curiosity about geopolitics and their impact on global and regional policymaking. - Proactive approach, willingness to take the initiative and ownership of an assignment, and curiosity to ask questions.- Capability to work effectively in a varied environment and within small dynamic teams.- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).- You must also have existing permission or a right to work in Belgium.
