JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:

Generate, coordinate, and implement business unit programs, tools, strategies, plans for the Dampers group by collaborating with cross-functional teams including OE sales, purchasing, finance, and the production plant. Interface with all product groups as needed. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains and synchronizes project tasks and key data in different tools.
  • Supports and contributes to business analytics projects and processes to provide data-driven insights related to business performance used to advise and develop strategies for operational improvements and future business initiatives.
  • Uses statistical methods, modeling, analytical methodologies, and data analysis to develop and deploy tools including dashboards, infographics, reports, and models to inform and support decision-making.
  • Mines, processes, and analyzes internal and external data using KPIs, business results, industry sources, competitor intelligence, and customer information.
  • Develops a good understanding of the business's model, objectives, issues, and challenges by interacting and collaborating with users and stakeholders.
  • Assists in the development of long-term goals and strategic objectives for an organization.
  • Assists in driving and directing cross-functional teams and coordinating multi-functional activities to meet milestones and deliver projects/subprojects on plan.
  • Support product life cycle management strategy and assigned projects/subprojects to enable fulfillment of CoC STRAP (strategic plan) commitments.
  • Tracks and participates in assigned project(s) relating to productivity or product introduction.
  • Support internal business functions and reporting for capital budget.
  • Support STRONG FOCUS growth process and reporting for business unit, including data analysis and validation.
  • Prepare and review reports and forecasts, providing financial and analytical support as required.
  • Organize and manage meetings to drive task execution and team updates.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and monitors issues that affect profitability, growth, and productivity.
  • May also be responsible for recommending financial and non-financial strategic alternatives and developing and maintaining operational plans.
  • P02-Intermediate: Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Typically requires 2-4 years of related experience.

 

Knowledge:

  • Basic knowledge of business and management processes needed for successful project completion and strategic planning preferred.
  • Working knowledge of planning, budgets and financial analysis preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of project management techniques and best practices preferred.
  • Knowledge of product costing and pricing principles and methods preferred.
  • Familiarity of cost accounting systems and techniques preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of financial and accounting systems: GL, A/P, budgeting and forecasting systems preferred.

 

Experience:

Analyst 1:

  • 0-2 years of experience in business analytics, financial analytics, or project management capacity.  Preferably in an automotive/transportation manufacturing environment.

 

Analyst 2:

  • 2-4 years of experience in business analytics, financial analytics, or project management capacity.  Preferably in an automotive/transportation manufacturing environment.

 

Skills:

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (specifically Excel and PowerPoint) required.   
  • Confidently and efficiently communicate/correspond to all levels of management.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of business process
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and planning skills to meet deadlines
  • Strong customer service skills with a results-oriented mindset
