Chief of Staff to CTO, Machine Learning

Abridge
Pittsburgh, United StatesRemotefull_timeVerifiedPosted 15 Dec 2023
💰 $150,000/yr($120,000/yr$150,000/yr)

About the role

Health care is all about conversations, with over 2B spoken conversations each year between patients and their care teams in just the United States. However, people forget up to 80% of those conversations, leading to worse patient outcomes. And doctors are burning out writing notes in their EMRs instead of focusing on their patients. That’s where Abridge comes in — our audio-based standalone and integrated solutions record and summarize medical conversations, anywhere care happens.

We’re looking for a dynamic and versatile Chief of Staff to support our Chief Technology Officer, who is also our Chief Scientist, in driving our mission forward. The Chief of Staff has many principal duties, all focused on improving the ability of leadership to effectively manage a fast-growing and high-velocity technical organization. You’ll work alongside our CTO, supporting their duties in directing the broader technical organization and as the hands-on Chief Scientist leading Abridge’s machine learning efforts. This job will put you in many or most of the CTO’s meetings, including technical staff meetings, customer facing meetings, and put you in frequent contact with leadership.

This is a hybrid remote position based out of Pittsburgh, PA

The Role

As Abridge’s Chief of Staff, you will be required to perform tasks large and small, always prioritizing the interests of the company and the efficiency of the CTO. Responsibilities will include coordinating and attending most meetings alongside the CTO and often attending meetings in their absence, communicating their wishes and being their ears, carrying out diverse operational tasks within the technical organization (as diverse as managing small projects, triaging inbound requests, filtering meeting requests, coordinating media opportunities, planning a team onsite, or scheduling travel).

This is an ideal position for an aspiring leader looking to be close to the action of managing a fast-growing startup and willing to do both the glamorous and unglamorous work to advance the company. You will have the makings of a future entrepreneur and/or Operations executive, be more than organized enough for two people, will earn a high level of trust, both on account of their integrity and reliability, and will be a great problem solver, executing complex tasks based on high-level instruction. You will work on a highly collaborative team and your role will have a significant impact on shaping the future and standards of generative AI in healthcare.

What You'll Do

What You’ll Bring

  • 2-3+ years of work experience at a high-performing company

  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and trustworthiness

  • Ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and explain simply

  • Superior skills in spoken, written, and visual communications
