As the Environmental Health & Safety Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the overall objectives of the Greenheck Group EHS strategic business plan, aids in providing focused guidance for reducing risks from incident trends and may assist with regulatory compliance for applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations. Responsible for continuous improvement oversight of assigned locations and collaborates with facility leadership and/or safety teams to help address risk management concerns and foster a culture of safety.  Collaborates on incident investigations to determine root causes and identify corrective action plans. Commonly provides guidance, coaching, and/or mentoring to others.

What you'll be doing:

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with operations leaders, plant managers, supervisors, and production personnel.

  • Focus on continuous improvement as well as new implementations of EHS programs within the region.

  • Develop, deliver, and or coordinate and help track various EHS training.

  • Conduct routine safety observations to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, company EHS/Facilities policies, Safety KPI’s, procedures, policies, and best practices.

  • Stay informed of safety, environmental, law or regulation changes that impact the organization.

  • Primary contact for applicable EHS regulatory agencies, ensure the company meets regulatory compliance obligations with OSHA, EPA, at Federal, State and local levels.

  • From time-to-time, conduct EHS focused training for onboarding of new hires or new procedures to ensure regulatory compliance, and consistency with Greenheck Group P&P’s.

  • Assist in conducting EHS/Facilities annual or periodic audits, identifying violations, and partnering with facilities to apply abatement or continuous improvements corrective actions.

  • Participate in the investigation of incidents, and ensure CAPA’s are completed to minimize future exposures from reoccurring, and proper records/documents are maintained.

  • Provide direction to Greenheck Group Facilities or Plant Leadership for safe outside contractor work and must be able to clearly explain the contractor safety needs of projects or building construction.

  • Handles and or collaborates with EHS or Human Resources team members on confidential matters.

  • Work in partnership with EHS Risk Analyst for effective WC Carrier and Greenheck Group Finance for routine WC expense management and forecast when relevant based on program relevance.

  • Manages projects or processes by working independently with limited supervision.

  • Analyze historical incident data that is requested by BU or other leadership for focused initiatives that effectively reduce risk for Greenheck Group team members.

  • Perform special projects as required including support of day-to-day facility operations and provide direction to our internal team members as well as outside contracted services.

  • Coach and review work of lower-level professionals, may manage an EHS Specialist.

  • Support and help oversee development and delivery methods for EHS training materials and continuous improvement of the EHS portion for new hire onboarding process.

  • Assist Director of EHS for ad hoc projects and support with regulatory agencies (OSHA/DNR/EPA), assists with revisions of Greenheck Group EHS policies, procedures, and practices.

  • Participate in meetings to discuss workplace safety & regulatory concerns as well as from time-to-time assist informing plant managers & supervisors of opportunities to help influence safe behaviors.
