Sr Machine Learning Engineer

The Position
By pioneering data-driven technology and insights, and connecting early diagnosis to targeted treatments, we’re advancing science to ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they need.
We are looking for an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to contribute to building NLP-powered systems to assist users with tasks related to biomedical text, such entity relation extraction, entity-linking, summarization, and search.
The Opportunity:
Design and implementation of scalable systems operating on millions of documents and utilizing modern neural network architectures.
Contribute to complex, reliable pipelines for end-to-end systems, spanning from feature engineering, training data selectin, to iterative model evaluations, and optimizations for efficient inference at large scale.
Author dependable, readable, maintainable and well-structured code.
Design and execute experiments to test hypothesis related project outcomes; extract the full relevance of technical observations.
Diagnose system and model prediction behavior.
Implement and evaluate machine learning algorithms and statistical models. Contribute to creating new derivatives or combinations of concepts from existing algorithms in the literature or external code bases to achieve superior results in house.
Participate in code reviews, design sessions, and technical documentation.
Communicate in writing and verbally with clarity and fluency.
Who you are:
BS/MS in CS, EE, Statistics or related technical discipline, with minimum 2+ years of related experience.
Experience building dependable systems based on machine learning and/or deep learning methods.
Experience with at least one of tensorflow or pytorch.
Knowledge of neural networks: CNN, RNN, attention, transformer-based architectures, loss functions, LLMs, understanding how models work, and their trade-offs.
Advanced software engineering skills and fluency with modern software engineering practices (version control, code reviews, etc).
Experience with distributed computing, large-scale system design, big data systems, databases (SQL or other), and data management and querying.
Relocation benefits are not offered for this role. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of New York is $107,800 and $200,800. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
