About the role

Overview

MSA has an opportunity for a Project Architect specializing in municipal projects located in our St Paul MN office. You will have the opportunity to see, and contribute in, projects from start to finish. The projects you’ll be working on make a significant and positive impact on the communities you’re serving. Projects are primarily in the public sector, including municipal buildings, water and wastewater treatment facilities, parks and recreation facilities and others.

Responsibilities

The work you may do

  • Client relations including attendance at client meetings and interaction with existing and new clients
  • Discipline leadership for internal project teams
  • Project management including project planning, scoping, budgeting and QA/QC
  • Leading the building design process. This includes programming, design concept planning, and design development.
  • Performing code reviews, reviewing specifications, and preparing cost estimates.
  • Preparing full construction documents in collaboration with our other disciplines and assisting with coordination of work.
  • Production of architectural models, including sections/details, using Revit.
  • Bidding and Construction Phase services.

Qualifications

What you bringSkills & Knowledge / Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering required (master’s preferred)
  • 6+ years of prior experience in the field of architecture or engineering required, specifically in municipal projects
  • Proficient use of Revit required
  • Licensed architect preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office required
  • Outstanding communication skills, ability to multi-task, and work within a team environment
  • Personal drive to take a lead in completing projects, assigning tasks to others and reviewing their work, and maintain open lines of communication
  • This position requires you have authorization to work in the United States for any employer. We will not provide sponsorship for this position

Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $86,900 to $139,100 per year commensurate with experience. Higher compensation within this range will be paid to candidates with significant experience and exceptional qualifications.
