Senior Manager, Sales (Open to remote)

Overseas the day-to-day management of select imprints and works closely with Group Sales Director to maximize sales for titles and categories within the Penguin Publishing Group.  Involved in all stages of the publishing process, the Imprint Sales Senior Manager acts as a primary point of contact for sales and publishing colleagues to communicate throughout all stages of the publishing process as well as to resolve issues and provide recommendations for on-going sales initiatives.

 

Responsibilities:

 

1. Analyzing sales reports for frontlist and reorder opportunities.
2. Goal setting based on current marketplace and publisher expectations.
3. Communication regarding breaking publicity with reps, publishers, and operations.
4. Ongoing sales and merchandising discussions with reps and Publishing.
5. Working with Title Manager, Inventory and Publishing to anticipate stock needs.
6. Assisting with planning agendas and running various meetings.
7. Coordinating drop-ins with publisher, inventory, reps and operations.
8. Liaising between publisher and reps for material requests and other general questions.
9. Providing regular (weekly + ad hoc) updates to sales & publishing on marketplace information and sales opportunities
10. Participating in title discussions in meetings with staff, marketing departments, and sales people based in NY and the Field.

 

Requirements:

 

• Minimum of 7 years prior sales and/or publishing experience with a deep knowledge of accounts and sales channels
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with employees across all levels and functions within an organization
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to thrive under pressure and effectively problem solve
• Highly proactive with the ability to adapt quickly to changes
• Strong sales analysis and communication skills

The salary range for this position is $78,000.00 - $80,000.00. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.
