Job Description

What You Get To Do In This Role:
The Senior Financial Analyst – Top-Line holds a pivotal role in ServiceNow, taking charge of planning, forecasting, and reporting key revenue metrics, encompassing Revenue, Billings, and Collections. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Strategic Finance – Topline, this role is instrumental in streamlining revenue management processes, optimizing collections, and improving billing procedures. The role will have extensive exposure to senior leadership across the company. The position leverages expertise in process automation, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Lead forecasting efforts, conducting monthly and quarterly forecasts, and performing scenario modeling.
  • Contribute to the financial planning process, including developing long-range forecasts, annual operating plans, and quarterly forecasting.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to oversee top-line metrics encompassing Billings, Revenue, and Collections.
  • Collaborate with partners including Sales Operations, Sales Finance, Orders to Cash Accounting, Analytics and other to ensure precise and transparent tracking of financial results.
  • Analyze financial outcomes and adeptly communicate insights to senior management for performance optimization.
  • Generate comprehensive analyses and presentations to effectively communicate strategic plans across the organization.
  • Work closely with Functional leads to offer management reporting, accounting, and compliance guidance, aligning with global and local operational plans.
  • Provide businesses with financial insights and assist in crafting performance metrics to steer strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Investor Relations and senior leadership to establish long-term and in-year guidance for investors and analysts.
  • Drive automation initiatives and enhance existing planning and reporting processes.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in revenue FP&A or corporate finance (including investment banking or financial consulting) with a focus on software preferred.
  • Strong interest in understanding the “why” behind financial metrics.
  • Previous experience in FP&A, Software Revenue forecasting, or a similar background that encompasses both financial and operational metrics. Software Revenue Accounting experience is highly recommended.
  • Highly analytical, fact-driven, process-oriented approach, coupled with the ability to challenge existing norms and pioneer new processes.
  • Expertise in financial modeling and reporting.
  • The ability to work with extensive datasets, identifying trends and deviations from expectations.
  • Familiarity with data modeling and analysis, along with experience in utilizing automation and machine learning for supported forecast tools—a strong advantage.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, SAP applications, Business Objects, Anaplan, and BI applications, SQL, Python and Alteryx.
