York International Corporation seeks Senior Mechanical Engineer at its facility located at 100 Cumberland Valley Avenue, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Utilize advanced engineering principles in mechanical design, product development, and manufacturing processes. Research and analyse product requirements, recommend solutions, and develop calculations using heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and other mechanical methodologies. Create 2D/3D CAD assemblies and drawings (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD). Generate detailed documentation, including BOMs, specifications, submittal packages, and manuals. Support product testing, data analysis, and performance evaluations. Ensure designs meet regulatory standards (e.g. UL, ASME). Collaborate with cross-functional teams for project planning, resource allocation, and timely delivery. Provide technical guidance, support shop floor and fabrication, and coordinate with vendors and suppliers. Drive continuous improvement, participate in technical reviews, and represent the company in technical discussions. Experience with evaporator coil selection, engineering change management, and custom manufacturing. Applying engineering principles to develop new products, maintain existing products, and process sales orders for FRICK branded airside equipment used primarily in food processing rooms. Act as part of a team of engineers who work together and independently to meet company goals. Work will be completed individually and with the help of others. Interface with sales, purchasing, other engineering groups, and manufacturing to identify and implement improvements related to design, part selection and fabrication. Utilize commercially available CAD and engineering software along with proprietary in-house engineering configuration tools. Design, model, annotate/draw and BOM release of Hygienic Air Handling Units (AcuAir) and Frick Penthouse Evaporator (FPHE) solutions. Simplify CAD Design work and engineering processes through thoughtful programming, configuration, or similar approaches. Resolve shop and end user issues including improvements in design and fabrication. Independently read and interpret schematics and drawings. Awareness of applicable national and international codes and ability to interpret and seek experts when necessary. Evaluate and implement corrective action to resolve quality issues. Value Added / Valued Engineered and workflow optimization. Apply computer knowledge to automate and streamline workflows. No Telecommuting Allowed.
REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and Five (5) years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Design Engineer, or related occupation in the mechanical engineering field. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Hygienic Air Handling Systems - Sizing, selection, and configuration of hygienic air handling units such as AcuAir, with an understanding of system options and performance characteristics; (2) Sheet Metal Design & Fabrication - Sheet metal fabrication, particularly airside components, including the creation of manufacturing-ready CAD data for CNC programming and nesting; (3) Advanced CAD & Configuration Management - Utilizing 3D CAD tools including Autodesk AutoCAD, Inventor, Vault Professional, and familiar with Revit ME. Utilizing modeling techniques such as iParts, Model States, and Reference States to support BOM and configuration control; (4) ERP & Procurement Optimization – Utilizing SAP ERP to extract costing, BOMs, and alternate part data. Led procurement activities including spend analysis, RFI/RFQ processes, and parts rationalization to drive cost savings; (5) Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement – Resolving supplier, customer, and shopfloor issues. Recommending product and process improvements that enhance efficiency and stakeholder satisfaction; and (6) Customer-Focused Engineering Solutions – Aligning product recommendations with customer goals, maximizing performance and value through tailored solutions that leverage company offerings.
In the alternative, the employer will also accept Seven (7) years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Design Engineer, or related occupation in the mechanical engineering field.
