Director, Pharmacy Market Development

This position is responsible for the oversight and direction of integrated pharmacy products, RFPs, and pricing strategies including support of underwriting in pricing bids, leading interactions with brokers, consultants, and account decision makers for new sales and renewals.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and monitoring of sales and renewals for an integrated pharmacy product to our employer accounts
• Builds and manages long term relationships with existing and potential clients including brokers and consultants to provide insights on BCBST pharmacy capabilities, clinical pharmacy solutions, drug development and pipeline trends, and impacts on clinical guideline changes that can impact costs and bids
• Leads strategy for pharmacy pricing models to generate pharmacy reserve and enhance our value offering to customers
• Leads strategy for value story development and evaluation of success of internal and external pharmacy messaging
• Oversees the direction and management of staff responsible for Request For Proposals (RFPs) for Pharmacy Management and all associated activities

 

Job Qualifications

Education

• Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (PharmD) required
• Postgraduate training (residency, fellowship, MBA, MS) preferred

 

Experience

• Minimum 8 years Healthcare Industry experience required
• Minimum 3 years of pharmacy or PBM experience with knowledge of pharmacy pricing and concepts
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory and/or leadership responsibilities required

  

Skills/Certifications

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written are essential
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Must be a team player, be organized and have the ability to handle multiple projects.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or function in a team environment sharing responsibility, roles and accountability.

 License

• Licensed in Tennessee to practice Pharmacy, or eligible for licensure in the state of Tennessee to practice Pharmacy
