Yahoo Sports Senior MLB Analyst

Yahoo Sports connects fans to the sports and fantasy games they love most, providing personalized quality content and superior fan experiences every day.

Responsibilities

• Provide analysis, commentary and news on MLB that can be leveraged across Yahoo Sports’ platforms.
• Conceptualize and help develop a weekly baseball show for digital video. Provide MLB commentary and analysis on Yahoo Sports' other video franchises.
• Maintain an active presence on multiple social-media platforms and collaborate with social team to promote Yahoo Sports' coverage and content. 
• Create and shape shoulder content around big events like spring training, World Series and MLB free agency.
• Contribute to Yahoo Sports’ MLB podcast.

Qualifications:

• At least five years experience in sports media/journalism.
• Minimum four years experience reporting on MLB.
• Social media experience on TikTok, X and Instagram, and a willing spirit to explore other rising social platforms.
• Strong writing skills, grammar, communication skills and an understanding of the “tone” of the internet.
• Exhibited writing expertise and versatility in dealing with trending stories, features and breaking news. 
• Keen eye for spotting emerging trends storylines. 
• Ability to cross-collaborate and work well in a team setting

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with MLB's top industry voices and decision makers, from players to executives to agents.
• Exhibit comfort level in conducting on-camera work.
• Willingness to engage with the audience and build conversation around our content.

The compensation for this position ranges from $90,750.00 - $188,750.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
