Summary of the Director, Product Marketing
The Director of Product Marketing is responsible for leading and elevating our product marketing efforts in a fast-paced SaaS B2B environment. As a key member of the marketing leadership team, this role will oversee a team of talented Product Marketing Managers and work cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing teams to drive growth and customer success. Their focus will include crafting compelling product positioning, executing effective go-to-market strategies, and ensuring organizational readiness for product launches and enhancements.
The Director, Product Marketing will report to the Chief Marketing Officer.
Responsibilities for the Director, Product Marketing
Leadership and Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Product Marketing Managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation
- Define team goals, priorities, and KPIs aligned with business objectives, ensuring alignment across all stakeholders
Product Positioning and Messaging
- Own the development of clear, differentiated, and compelling product positioning and messaging that resonates with target audiences
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Sales to ensure consistent messaging across all customer touchpoints
Go-to-Market Strategy and Organizational Readiness
- Drive the end-to-end go-to-market process for new product launches, features, and updates, ensuring organizational alignment and readiness
- Work cross-functionally to create launch plans, timelines, and success metrics to ensure impactful rollouts
Market and Customer Insights
- Lead market research initiatives to deeply understand industry trends, customer pain points, and competitive landscapes
- Partner with Product and Customer Success teams to integrate customer feedback into product development and positioning
Sales Enablement and Training
- Develop and deliver sales enablement materials, including product decks, one-pagers, FAQs, and competitive analysis
- Partner with Sales to design and implement training programs that empower teams to effectively communicate product value
Marketing Campaign Strategy
- Collaborate with demand generation and content teams to design marketing campaigns that drive awareness, adoption, and retention
- Ensure campaign messaging aligns with product positioning and addresses customer needs
Qualifications of the Director, Product Marketing
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA is a plus
- 8+ years of product marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role at a SaaS B2B company
- Proven success in leading go-to-market strategies and driving cross-functional initiatives
- Familiarity with SaaS subscription models and enterprise sales processes.
- Health care industry experience/knowledge a plus
- Experience with sales enablement tools and platforms (e.g. Salesforce, Highspot)
