Job Summary
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for a strategic targeted approach to pursuing new business opportunities.
The BDM will also liaise with existing customers, forming, and strengthening relationships to expand the business organically from the existing customer base.
The position requires the ability to analyze data and set actions plans and objectives in line with the agreed strategies. The BDM will report to the VP Business Development and will work with the VP to communicate to the Oxford group the customer perception of, and satisfaction with, Oxford services in an effort to effect continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
- Effective Sales and commercial activities
- Conduct extensive market analysis to understand the future opportunities and strategically position the business for sustained growth
- Research and report on current competitor pricing Manage the new business solicitation process
- Partner with OEMs on opportunities for projects and installations
- Work closely with engineering and operations teams and multiple other business operational groups to drive new business for Oxford
- Lead negotiation of contracts ranging from sales agreements, RFPs, NDAs and others Work with stakeholders to oversee contracts from the approval process to signature
- When applicable, research understand and apply government specific labor requirements such as Prevailing Wage, etc
- Understand the subcontractor process with a focus on satisfying the DSMW/BE requirements Define and improve handover process from sales to operations
- Participate in project start-up process
- Close coordination with Oxford department heads
- Part of the commercial team responsible for achieving the regional revenue targets.
- Direct engagement with clients on a reactive and proactive basis.
- Provide accurate weekly/monthly performance reporting
- Work with the sales manager to support the commercial team delivering sales initiatives, regular customer forums and any other ad-hoc events of a public relations nature.
- Ensure an effective close working relationship with key customers
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of experience selling operations, maintenance, repair, construction, or technology services to various customer types including C-Suite buyers
- Specific industry experience and familiarity with services offered by Oxford is preferred Proficiently work with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
- Able to travel frequently (50%)
- Demonstrate dependable work habits and a willingness to work additional hours as necessary to ensure the on-time delivery of bid proposals
