About the role

Introduction

ASML US, including its affiliates and subsidiaries, bring together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. Your Assignment

Big amounts of equipment data are being collected from our machines at customer sites. Processing of that data heavily relies on manual activities and rigid scripts. This internship aims to explore AI-driven approaches to automate and optimize these processes.

We are looking for an enthusiastic intern to join our team and help us explore innovative ways to process large volumes of equipment data using Artificial Intelligence (AI). This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and contribute to transforming how we manage and analyze machine data collected from customer sites.

Our team is responsible for managing and analyzing equipment data generated by machines deployed at customer locations. Currently, processing this data involves tedious manual activities and the use of existing scripts with limited flexibility. These challenges hinder scalability and efficiency, creating a strong need for automation and smarter solutions.

The intern will investigate emerging AI technologies and techniques to improve data processing workflows. The goal is to identify opportunities where AI can replace or augment manual processes and develop proof-of-concept solutions to showcase potential improvements.

  • Research AI methods applicable to data processing and automation.
  • Analyze current workflows and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop prototypes or proof-of-concept solutions using AI tools and frameworks.
  • Document findings and present results to the team.

Your Profile

  • Must be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, with a minor in Electronics, Electrical engineering, Mechanical engineering, or Mechatronics
  • Knowledge or experience using:
    • Embedded Systems, PCB, Or Circuits
    • Robotics, Actuators, Or Sensors
    • Instrumentation, Or Test Equipment
    • Optics, Or Lab Equipment

Other Information

  • This position is located on-site in San Jose, CA.  It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation
  • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach and stretch
  • Occasionally required to move around the campus
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
