About the role

Primary Purpose Summary
This position is to provide assistance to Lincolnton’s Quality Systems, and Manufacturing processes. Responsible for planning, directing and controlling the activities of the quality lab, to including routine evaluation of product quality as well as new product qualification. Will have several Quality Technicians reporting directly to him/her. Specific focus on communicating organizational needs to QA Techs, overseeing employees' performance.
Developing QA Techs by identifying development needs and providing guidance through performance reviews, training, and accountability. QA Lab Owner - focus on area improvements for productivity (5S/ease of equipment use, lab equipment downtime contingency plans/redundancies, new inspection systems to automate standard lab inspections, and improved ergonomics for existing inspections). Working with QEs to ensure all available Quality documentation (product specs, & visual standards detailing accept/reject criteria) is available for QA Techs to make sound Quality related discissions for in-process control and defect escapes.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support and adhere to all system procedures and Company policies / procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Follow all safety regulations.
  • Support departmental annual objectives.
  • Implement Quality Lab, Product Audit development and system implementation that will ensure product conformance to specifications.
  • Aid in the development of product specifications, procedures and test methods as required.
  • Work within the organization to execute changes and improvements to the quality process.
  • Provide support and training to manufacturing. As well as assist in the collection of data to troubleshoot problems.
  • Participate and/or lead continuous improvement teams, Continuously review and improve processes to make the area more accurate, efficient, and effective. • Manage quality held inventory, coordinate audits and resolution.
  • Participate in Internal, IMS/FDA, SQF, ISO, and customer certification audits.
  • Maintain testing equipment, as well as researching and purchase new manufacturing technology.
  • Perform other related duties assigned.

 

Required Qualifications

Education

  • •Associate degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Business Administration preferred or equivalent experience.


Experience:

  • Supervision experience preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Quality 
  •  Working knowledge of the ISO:9000 and SQF standards and requirements
  •  Black or Green Belt/Six Sigma certified and experience in continuous improvement activities such as Kaizen preferred

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  •  Ability to motivate and lead improvement in areas of responsibility
  • Working knowledge of statistics, root cause analysis and corrective action process.
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work independently, resolve conflicts and drive customer satisfaction.
  • Professional and optimistic attitude, ability to work in a team environment.
