Essential Functions
- 25% Under the direction, independently performs a variety of highly responsible staff assignments.
- 25% Creates, maintains, tracks, and distributes Human Resources reports and data.
- 20% Coordinates and conducts New Employee Orientation Onboarding and Offboarding employee separating from agency.
- 15% Serves as an Agency Technology Service Requestor (ATSR) for the Veteran’ Affairs
- 10% Oversees employee OneNet training for the agency. Maintains up-to-date knowledge on State of Illinois training programs and opportunities.
- 5% Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration.
- Requires one (1) year of professional experience in a public or private organization, or completion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years’ experience working in Human Resources.
- Two (2) years of professional experience meeting deadlines with strong attention to detail and to utilize critical thinking skills.
- Two (2) years of professional experience researching issues and concerns in preparation of reports to staff, customers, public and/or internal/external stakeholders.
- One (1) year of professional experience working with database, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires the ability to pass a background check
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
- Requires ability to attend seminars, conferences, and trainings to stay current on methods, tools, ideologies, or other industry related topics relevant to the job duties.
- Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be requested or required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime. This requires the ability to work evenings and weekends.
