Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting a Student Worker, English and bilingual English/Spanish speaking telephone interviewers to collect CDC-sponsored health information for the School of Public Health and the State of Nevada.
Responsibilities
Collect health-related survey data over the telephone in accordance to protocol outlined by state and national clients
Utilize telephone interviewing and data entry skills to contact the public
Garner interest and participation in this study
Conduct computer-guided interviews
Enter data directly and accurately into the computer system
Required Qualifications
Candidates must be enrolled at The University of Nevada, Reno in at least 6 credits and have a 2.0 GPA
Candidates must have a friendly phone voice and demeanor; We like to teach to “smile while you dial,” as it is our primary goal to inform and assure our survey participants that our research is important and that we are always appreciative of them and understanding of their concerns
Candidates must have strong verbal and written skills in English
Candidates must be able to work in person on the main UNR campus, during semester breaks, and must schedule according to the outlined working hours indicated further below
Survey research data collection requires a phone-lab setting for multiple-line in and outbound calling. However, there is potential for remote work on an as-needed basis.
Must be available to work during summer break!
Preferred Qualifications
Work Study application and participation is strongly encouraged
Bilingual English/Spanish speakers are strongly encouraged to apply and will be paid an additional 25-cents hourly
Schedule
Expected hours to work per week: 20-25
May work up to 40 hours a week during school breaks (Summer, Winter, Spring)
You are given the opportunity to self-schedule following the provided guidelines and available working hours
Monday - Thursday: 1:00pm – 9:00pm
Friday: 1:00PM – 7:00pm
Saturday - Sunday: 10:00am – 5:00pm
** Must be able to work until closing (9:00pm) for the majority of weekly shifts
** Must be able to work one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) per week

Starting pay: $14.00/hr
