Job Description

X-energy is seeking professionals to join our Human Capital team in the role Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP). This role serves as a trusted advisor and consultant to senior business leaders and managers, aligning HR strategy with business objectives. This role provides strategic support in the areas of organizational design, workforce planning & staffing, culture, and data analysis. The HRBP helps shape the employee experience, supports leadership, and contributes to creating a high‐performance, engaged workforce.


 

Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • ​Partner with senior business unit leaders to deeply understand objectives, workforce challenges, and talent needs, translating these into actionable HR strategies and workforce plans.
  • Provide expert coaching and consultative guidance to senior leaders and managers on performance management, talent development programs, succession planning, employee relations, and building career paths aligned with business needs.
  • Lead or actively contribute to enterprise-wide organizational change initiatives, including restructures, mergers/acquisitions, role redesign, culture transformation, and change communication strategies.
  • Leverage HR metrics and people analytics to identify workforce trends such as turnover hotspots, engagement drivers, skill gaps, and performance patterns; proactively design and recommend intervention strategies.
  • Work cross-functionally with Compensation & Benefits, Training & Workforce Development, HR Operations, and other HR teams to tailor and execute HR programs that meet the unique needs of business units.
  • Engage with senior leadership on initiatives enhancing employee experience, diversity, equity and inclusion, belonging, wellness, and organizational culture.
  • Partner with senior leadership in Human Capital to evaluate the HRBP services, define, and implement continuous improvement enhancements.
  • Act as a trusted change partner, facilitating smooth transitions during periods of change, and fostering continuous improvement in HR delivery and practices.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of HR policies and procedures within assigned client groups, maintaining compliance and organizational alignment.
  • Manage and oversee functional or administrative HR support resources to meet business unit needs.
  • Uphold ethical standards consistent with organizational values.
  • Demonstrate leadership presence, resilience, and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Job Profile Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Psychology, or related field.
  • Typically, twelve years experience in area of Human Resources in which provided strategic support to leaders.
  • Knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, policy, compensation & benefits, performance management.
  • Analytical skills: ability to interpret HR / people metrics, use data to diagnose issues and propose solutions.
  • High integrity, confidentiality, professionalism.
  • Familiarity with HRIS / HR tools and systems.
  • Adaptability: able to work in a changing, ambiguous environment.
  • Experience working with leaders in a strategic capacity.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous experience serving as an HRBP in a matrixed environment.

Location:  530 Gaither Road, Rockville, MD

Work Site Expectations: 4 days in office
Travel Expectations: 5% (as needed for project assignment)
Hours: Standard office hours are 8:00am ET to 5:00pm ET, Monday -Friday
