Senior Software Engineer

The Full Stack Software Developer Candidate should have a passion for designing, developing, testing, and implementing, enterprise software systems.  They will work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, customers, and other technical teams to define and deliver solutions that will ensure our customer’s needs and expectations as well as enterprise goals are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. Their responsibilities include mentoring, assisting with architecture and system design, clarifying user requirements, defining functional system components as well as creating secure and easy to maintain software applications. Our ideal candidate is familiar with the entire software development life cycle (SDLC) from preliminary system analysis to testing and deployment. This position will be part of an Agile team of dedicated developers and analysts who always strive to leave an application or process better than they found it.

Knowledge and Abilities Required

• Demonstrates a thorough, detailed working knowledge of relevant technologies.  Responsible for designing and implementing how technology will be leveraged in current or new systems.
• Strong track record of working with business customers to understand their needs and design solutions and processes to capitalize on business opportunities.
• Requires wisdom to discern how and when to employ low-code engineering platforms in lieu of custom code.
• Requires sufficient programming skill to solve very complex technical problems. Must produce well-designed and efficient code with appropriate unit test coverage.
• Must be self- motivated, able to work independently and as a member of a team. The Candidate must take personal responsibility for work they have committed to as well as ongoing professional development and growth.
• Requires oral and written communication skills to facilitate clear communication with management and peers.
• Should be able to produce clear diagrams of developed solutions. Provides thorough and complete documentation for all programming changes and enhancements.
• Analyze business functions and data discrepancies
• Assists in identifying solutions that leverage both the mainframe and the distributed platforms
• Utilize mainframe development skills to code and test solutions to meet business requirements
• Provide Subject Matter Expert level knowledge to drive technology solution development and integration across the SDLC
• Experience with batch programming and online system with high availability, high throughput, and quick response time
• Experience in code management and versioning methodologies
• Experience providing on call support (24/7)
• Be responsible for conforming to customer standards and requirements and will be involved in the unit testing and validation against desired outcomes
• Experience in insurance and/or banking is preferred
• Support team to provide estimates on new initiatives/projects
• Monitor Incident tickets and Provide Problem resolution based on Service Level Agreements
• Experience creating System Documentation 

Tools Required or Desired

• 5+ years of experience in C#, .Net framework required
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certifications / experience required
• 5+ years software development experience required. 
• Operational and/or Incident management experience a plus
• Business Intelligence application delivery using the Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SQL Server) a plus
• Fundamental understanding of relational and dimensional databases required
• Mainframe development experience is a plus
• SQL Server 2012+ experience required
• Experience with unit testing ideals and frameworks required
• Experience building/working with enterprise level tools and applications required
• Agile/Scrum experience preferred
• Experience in CICS and Mainframe utilities and TSO is a plus
• Knowledge of SQL, SSRS and SSIS preferred
• An understanding of UML, and the ability to create and maintain of project work products including use cases, data flow charts, process flow diagrams, software requirements document, functional specifications document
• Exposure of tools like Endeavor and Move-It is a plus
