The Director of Track and Field Operations oversees the day to day operations of the Men's and Women's Track and Field program. Due to the very confidential nature of student-athlete recruiting, the incumbent is in a highly sensitive position and must be able to maintain trust of the entire coaching staff. The incumbent is exposed daily to information of a highly confidential nature and must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism. In conjunction, the incumbent must be aware of NCAA and SEC rules and regulations.
25% Oversees the day-to-day operation of the Track and Field office including working with the business office to manage the budget; compliance responsibilities such as roster management, time management plan, required forms for recruiting and current student-athletes including scholarship paperwork. Responsible for maintaining a clean, organized office and ordering office supplies as needed.
25% Works with business and travel offices to secure hotels, ground transportation, and flights for all away competitions for cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field. Completes authorizations to travel for all team and individual coach travel. Requests spend authorizations and completes expense reports for all team and individual coach travel. Arranges for per diem or team meals for all home and away competitions.
15% Responsible for the communication and management of all home meet arrangements, college and high school to include, but not limited to: meet information, team packets, and liaison to event management, the LSU Track and Field Officials Association, DirectAthletics, and the LHSAA.
10% Assists all assistant coaches with official visits including, but not limited to: arranging meals, snacks, and all required paperwork for Compliance.
10% Hire and oversee student workers to assist with administrative tasks in the office including recruiting and officials mailings, answering the phone, assisting with official visit preparation, home meet packet preparation and pickup, and other duties as needed. Hire and oversee netbook operator student workers for meet days.
10% Oversees the ordering, inventory and return of apparel and shoes with the assistance of the equipment staff and a student manager.; Manages team locker rooms and graphics updates throughout the facility.
5% Oversees the annual Awards Banquet and Alumni Weekend;Advances and supports LSU and Athletics Department initiatives through personal participation in educational and developmental opportunities, as well as participation in the creation of a respectful culture consistent with the values of LSU and its Athletics Department; Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with three years experience in a Division I athletic program or as a professional athlete. Knowledge of collegiate athletics, NCAA and rules and regulations; Organizational and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications
One year experience in a Division I Track and Field Program; Knowledge of meet management and computer entry systems.
