Responsibilities:
Drive the standardization and validation of manufacturing processes
Utilize the scientific molding systematic approach to develop consistent, high-quality injection molding processes
Establish process windows and tool optimization for molding processes by applying scientific process development methodology
Identify and challenge key process settings against customer product requirements
Clearly document process development DOE and results
Monitor existing processes to maintain proper tooling, machine maintenance and reduce downtime or defective parts across product runs
Develop documented trouble shooting guidelines regarding silicone injection molding
Prepare complete and accurate records of assigned project activities per the established medical quality system and validation guidelines
Plan and organize project timelines for assigned projects using established project management tool
Direct cross-functional activities to address cost/timing related issues for assigned projects
Conduct regular project meetings, publish timely project updates, and manage activities that impact critical path items
Improve productivity and eliminate waste through lean / six sigma methodology
Coordinate process validation of silicone injection molds working with Project Engineers/Quality – responsible for final validation of product
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, preferably Plastics Engineering or Technology
Minimum of 8 years of experience with setting up molds and processes for injection molding machines and automated assembly equipment.
Technical experience in injection Molding processes, material behavior, and ability to utilize scientific molding technique into process development.
DOE/Validation Experience (IQ/OQ/PQ process)
Ability to read and analyze hydraulic, electric, and pneumatic blueprints
Experience assembling/disassembling injection molding equipment and tooling
Must have full comprehension of injection molding equipment controls and their effect on processing/tooling
Ability to use basic metrology tools such as gauge pins, micrometers, tool scope, dial indicators, calipers, bore gauges, etc
