Warehouse Manager

Description

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods in a warehouse environment. This role involves managing a team of warehouse staff, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining inventory accuracy, and optimizing space and processes to achieve operational efficiency. The Warehouse Manager also coordinates closely with various departments, such as procurement, logistics, and customer service, to meet business objectives and customer satisfaction.

 Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

• Oversee the daily operations of warehouse inventory, ensuring that stock levels are accurate and managed in line with company policies.
• Implement effective stock control processes, including receiving, picking, packing, and dispatching goods.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.

Staff Supervision & Leadership:

• Manage, train, and lead a team of warehouse staff, including assigning tasks, setting performance goals, and providing feedback.
• Ensure proper staffing levels for peak periods and schedule shifts accordingly.
• Promote a positive work environment focused on teamwork and efficiency.

Logistics & Distribution:

• Coordinate  and monitor inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring that goods are delivered to customers on time.
• Work closely with transportation providers to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of goods.
• Ensure proper documentation for shipping and receiving activities.

Warehouse Efficiency:

• Continuously assess and improve warehouse operations, including layout, space utilization, and workflow to maximize       efficiency.
• Implement lean processes or best practices to minimize waste and optimize the use of resources.
• Oversee maintenance of warehouse equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.

Health & Safety Compliance:

• Ensure the warehouse operates in compliance with health and safety standards and regulations.
• Conduct safety audits and inspections, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure all warehouse staff are properly trained in safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment       (PPE) and handling of hazardous materials, if applicable.

Customer Service:

• Work closely with the customer service and sales teams to resolve issues related to inventory, shipping, or orders.
• Ensure the timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders and resolve any discrepancies.

Budget & Cost Control:

• Monitor warehouse expenses and ensure operations stay within budget.
• Look for ways to reduce costs while maintaining  quality service and operational efficiency.
• Assist in preparing annual budgets and providing financial reports related to warehouse operations.

Vendor & Supplier Relations:

• Liaise with suppliers to ensure that deliveries are made on time and meet quality standards.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers for warehouse equipment, storage solutions, or other operational needs.

Requirements

  

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, but equivalent experience may be accepted.
• At least five years of experience in warehouse operations, including a minimum of two years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Experience in inventory control, logistics, or distribution is highly preferred.
• Experience with ServiceTitan preferred. 
• Familiarity with transportation management and supply chain optimization.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with different teams and vendors.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to handle operational challenges.
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods and lift or move heavy items when required.

Work Environment:
Primarily a warehouse environment, which may involve exposure to temperature extremes (hot or cold), loud noises, and heavy machinery. Regular interaction with transportation providers, suppliers, and internal departments.
