Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Cloud Security Specialist to join the NOAA Mission IT Services (NMITS) contract. The successful candidate will support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Cloud and National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) initiatives. NMITS allows NOAA missions the ability to procure IT tools and support in areas such as enterprise services, application administration, enterprise and cloud computing, data and voice network services, cybersecurity, and information assurance. Join a dynamic team which will play a critical role to NOAA’s mission to understand and predict changes in weather, climate, oceans, coasts, and space environments, which supports the Nation’s economy and protection of lives and property.
Responsibilities:
- Strong understanding of cloud information flows, and process architecture necessary for implementation of cloud security.
- Use information technology to plan, prepare, and execute cloud related security tasks.
- Applies knowledge of security requirements, documentation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Implements cloud security policies and procedures.
- Conducts cloud security audits against contractual requirements.
- Prepare and review cloud security architecture.
- Develops cloud design documentation.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in cloud security architecture, design, and implementation.
- Deep understanding of cloud-based security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, vulnerability scanners, and log analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of role-based access control (RBAC) concepts at the application and cloud level.
- Experience with cloud-based platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO, and CIS.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Desire to learn new skills and technologies.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
- United States Citizen

Target Salary Range
$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.Apply for this role
