As the Principal Project Manager, Operations, you will lead key strategic projects across the Dedicated Transportation business, working cross-functionally to implement solutions, drive performance and monitor the effectiveness of strategic initiatives. What your day-to-day will look like:

• Provide leadership and focus, managing multiple projects with identifiable critical paths, task dependencies, risk/issue mitigation processes and major milestones
• Work with business leaders to identify and scope areas of opportunity to create and implement process improvements.
• Support the sales process, specifically the key business development stakeholders on prospect presentations, data gathering, and solution design.
• Contribute to the development of best practices for RXO implementation processes in compliance with quality standards.
• Applying project management expertise and individual technical and professional knowledge to ensure the quality of the products and project deliverables are of the highest quality, meet the agreed upon timeline, and the contractual scope.
• Drive customer onboarding and implementation for new business and navigate internal operations

 

What you’ll need to excel:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience
• 5 years of experience as Project/Program Manager in transportation and logistics or equivalent operational experience.
• Experience in transportation and logistics including Carrier Procurement, Load Planning & Execution, Freight Audit and Payment, Transportation Analysis, or Warehousing.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and experience working with or implementing Transportation Management software.
• Availability to travel up to 30% of the time

 

It’d be great if you also have:

• Additional experience in logistics, transportation or warehousing
• Additional experience or skills in an analytical field
• Microsoft Project experience or Project Planning Software
• Experience with Agile Methodologies
• Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Lean or Six Sigma Certification and/or PMP
• Experience in a customer-facing role
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• The self-motivation to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment
