About the role
Position Sumary
Schedule follow-up appointments. Provide post-visit instructions and materials. Ensure all necessary referrals and orders are processed before patient departure. Handle all tasks related to closing the patient's clinic encounter.

Possess the ability to resolve conflict, Posses excellent listening skills.
Preferred Qualification: Solid Computer Skills, Solid Customer Service Skills Ability to Multi Task,Solid Organization Skills, Experience in Medical Office Environment, Ability to Work in Fast Paced, Busy Environment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds frequently, and negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Involves sitting for long periods of time. Occasionally requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling. Requires near and midrange vision, talking, hearing, and repetitive movement of wrists, hands, and fingers. Requires viewing computer screens for extended periods. The incumbent works in a good environment under clean working conditions; one or more disagreeable elements may be present to a small degree from time to time. There is potential for exposure to contagious diseases from patient contact, but this risk is minimal when proper safety precautions are used.
JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
1. Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to the HMHD Compliance Plan.
2. Conduct reflects HMHD's values and a commitment to HMHD's Code of Conduct.
3. Attends the required corporate integrity and compliance training and education programs.
4. Demonstrates proficiency in understanding the materials presented during the corporate integrity and compliance training and education program.
5. Complies with all HIPAA standards.
6. Greets patients in a professional and courteous manner
7. Reconcile Medication(s) with Patient
8. Data Entry of Demographic and Clinical Information into HRMP System(s)
9. Communicating Lab and Procedure Results to Patients
10. Review and Clarification of patient consent forms with patient prior to patient signing forms
11. Call/Process Prescriptions to Pharmacy as applicable
12. Ability to provide and explain instructions for Patient Procedure Preparation, Prescription, and other directives needed with regard to patient education
13. Preparation of Chart information for Physician as needed/requested
14. Manage office telephone systems, including answering calls and returning messages
15. Scheduling patient appointments (new and established patients) and maintaining communication to confirm future appointments (includes knowledge of proper EHR patient registration process)
16. Performing data entry tasks to document patient records within facility databases and maintaining patient files
17. Coordinating daily office activities, greeting patients and checking patients in and out for their appointments
18. Eligibility and benefits; collection of surgical fees from patient
19. Authorization and pre-certification of procedures and medications
20. Scan documents into EHR
21. Index scanned documents
22. Check-out functions
23. Prepare documents for transmission to external entities via fax, mail, and other
24. Referral Coordination, both outgoing and incoming
25. Surgery Scheduling and Coordination between Physician/Hospital and Patient
26. Pre-Operative Appointment Scheduling and Coordination between Hospital and Patient; Assure appropriate coordination with other hospital departments when special surgical needs occur
27. Maintain daily surgical schedule to ensure that all patients are scheduled appropriately
28. Assist patients with information necessary to pay all medical charges
29. Set post-surgical appointments with doctors and perform all necessary tests
30. Inform patients and any relevant third party through instructions about "things to do" before and after surgeries
31. Take reservations for surgeries and schedule a date based on the availability of the surgeon and the medical condition of patients
32. Order patients' test results and assess information from the report to determine if a patient is ready for surgery
33. Optimizes patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
34. Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival, reviewing service delivery compare
