Lead Logistics Specialist

Orlando, FL (Onsite)

Position Summary

Thales is looking for a Lead Logistics Specialist to oversee the logistics team and provide strategic direction for all warehouse operations. You will be responsible for managing daily workflows, resolving operational bottlenecks, and ensuring that all processes align with organizational goals.

In this position, you will also act as the key liaison between the logistics team and management, you will ensure operational efficiency, maintain high levels of accuracy, and foster a collaborative and productive environment. You will also be responsible for implementing process improvements, overseeing team development, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Oversee and manage daily operations of the logistics team, including other level staff. 
  • Ensure timely processing of all shipments and inventory movements; Identify and resolve workflow bottlenecks to optimize operational efficiency; Serve as the primary point of contact for escalation of logistics issues; Work in any area of the Materials business as necessary. 
  • Provide reporting and insights to management on warehouse performance and operational improvements; Drive continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with management and cross-functional teams; Collaborate with management to set and achieve KPIs related to inventory accuracy, on-time shipments, and warehouse efficiency. 
  • Develop, coach, and mentor team members, providing training and growth opportunities. 
  • Coordinate and lead cycle counting and inventory audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance; Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and company policies. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 6+ years of SAP experience with advanced knowledge in logistics functions; 7+ years of experience in inventory control, shipping & receiving, and warehouse management.
  • Experience in leading logistics teams and improving operational efficiency.
  • Advanced Excel skills for complex data analysis and reporting. 
  • Ability to prioritize and make decisions in the best interest of the department, team, business; Ability to work well with others and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Experience operating a forklift and pallet jacks as required.

Special Position Requirements

  • Schedule: Mon-Sun coverage 6am – 4am. May require rotation between all shifts as well as weekend and holiday work, Position often requires ability to work overtime and flexible schedules.
  • Physical Environment: General office & warehouse environment. 
  • Physical Demands: Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally and/or up to twenty (20) pounds frequently.
  • Travel: Must be willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally on occasion.
  • Regulatory Compliance Requirements: None.
