Job Description

We’re building Walmart Data Ventures from the ground up. Our disruptive data products serve millions of customers, suppliers, and associates across our unique user ecosystem, and high-quality Product Design is at the center of everything we do.

As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll lead design for a new product area, critical for our next phase of growth. You'll work hard to understand the people we’re designing for, and to deliver useful and usable product experiences that delight. You’ll work across functions and stakeholder groups, contributing your expertise in user- / human-centered design to deliver successful outcomes for our users and our business.

About Data Ventures:Data Ventures exists to unlock the full value of Walmart’s data by delivering enterprise data products that empower our biggest merchants and suppliers to make better decisions, faster. We’re seeking entrepreneurial individuals to help design products, from concept to deployment.

What you’ll do:
  • Define and drive design vision, strategy, and approach, for a critical product area within our Scintilla platform
  • Contribute to our design language and system, identifying and designing high-value patterns and components for use across our suite of products
  • Design at the appropriate fidelity — use frameworks, sketches, diagrams, user flows, information architecture, wireframes, and prototypes to communicate and pressure test our ideas
  • Use your expertise of design thinking methodologies to facilitate effective cross- functional conversations and workshops, gather and give shape to ideas from our partner teams, and rapidly build prototypes for testing and further iteration
  • Design products and experiences consistent with our platform of products, in close collaboration with Engineering, Data Science, and Product Management
  • Act as a leader within our growing Product Design organization, sharing knowledge, mentoring on best practices, shaping our culture, and helping the team stay up to date on how today’s top teams operate

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Information Architecture, User Experience, Visual Communications, or other related field, with 4-6 years of professional experience, or Master’s Degree in related field with 3-5 years of professional experience, or 7+ years of professional experience
  • A portfolio showcasing shipped product design work, preferably in high-complexity industries like finance, healthcare, data, or other enterprise areas
  • Deep understanding of design thinking methodologies and user- / human-centered product design and development
  • Track record for turning ambiguity and complexity into effective design sol
