Under direct supervision of the Coordinator – Memory Fitness Center, assists in providing effective client services to patients and families referred to the Memory Fitness Center.Meets all standards of the Patient Satisfaction Initiative Criteria in order to make Abington – Jefferson Health (AJH) the hospital of choice for Patients and Employees.Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of Memory Fitness Center to provide a safe and therapeutic environment for identified clients.Develops and maintains physical setting to maximize benefits of program Assists in operation of program by maintaining daily schedule, meeting needs of participants while staying within budgeted parameters.Initiates new activities, modifies them to maintain inclusive milieu for participants, contributes to assessment process for applicants to program.Assist in ongoing evaluation of program by monitoring needs of clients, modifying as appropriate.Fulfill duties and responsibilities of Program Coordinator in Coordinators absence, including developing and implementing group activities, supervising interns and volunteers, maintaining records, and marketing program.Performs other related duties as assigned.Education: High School Diploma required. Associates Degree in Therapeutic Recreation preferred.Experience:2+ years experience conducting recreational group activities for geriatric population and for those with dementia.Certification: Certified Activity Assistant (AAC) preferred.
