Work Shift

The actual schedule for this position will be quite fluid and will change depending upon events, the University academic or building schedules and available student employee coverage. During peak time this position may work more than 40 hours a week, and morning and extended weekend work will be required. Compensatory time will be awarded for hours in excess of 40.

The standard 40-hour shift for this position is flexible and will begin weekdays between 6:45 am and 10:00 am (candidate availability and work shift preferences will be covered during interview).

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a full time Senior Events Production Manager for the University Unions. The location for this position is the William C. Powers, Jr. (WCP) Student Activity Center, 2201 Speedway, Austin, Texas.   

The Senior Events Production Manager will supervise and support all aspects of the use of audio/visual and media equipment within the WCP Student Activity Center.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing university employees, students and faculty with technical assistance support, and guidance.
• Serving as WCP Student Activity Center contact for assistance with policy, procedure, and orientation on media capabilities and operations. 
• Managing the operation, maintenance and safeguarding of technical assets/equipment of the WCP Student Activity Center.
• Participating in repair and replacement, preventative maintenance, and inventory control of equipment.
• Managing, trains and schedules full time staff and student employees who will be employed as part time sound and lighting technicians.
• Providing expertise and advice to users of the facility on safety, technical characteristics, and other aspects of facility operations
• Providing first level support to end users of the AV systems in a timely, student-focused, and friendly manner.
• Determining necessary technical supports, such as lighting, sound, staging and special needs necessary for events and performances in advance of production dates.
