Job Description

This role will lead the US and Canada- Connectivity (E&E), including sales, account management, technical expertise and operations

• Support the global Vice Presidents in strategic planning and business development activities

• Manage the business development strategy for NAM Connectivity EE business

• Identify, develop and implement new business opportunities as per agreed business development strategy

• Lead North America Connectivity Sales and Key Account teams, and collaborate with global Connective team to grow the business to agreed targets

Responsible for US and Canada testing operations, functions, and global sales and business development for the Connectivity/E&E Strategic Business Units.

  • With local management, has oversight of domestic testing Operations, consisting of laboratories in Fairfield, NJ, Suwanee, GA; San Diego, CA.
  • Support North America EE management in defining and executing marketing strategy / approach.
  • Responsible for revenue evaluation and potential; responsibilities includes the overall execution of E&E business strategies for North America in line with Global business strategy.
  • Conduct and review market analysis to determine customer needs, trends and related business opportunities. Expand business services’ geographical footprints in key states to meet the market needs.
  • Contribute to the identification, evaluation and integration of acquisitions
  • Collaborate with local marketing, sales, finance, operations and legal in the development and implementation of business opportunities
  • Collaborate with North America sales and global key account teams to identify key prospects and customers and propose related business development strategies. Responsible for implementing proper sales structure.
  • Contribute to the preparation of proposals and negotiation of contracts with customers and other business partners.
  • Network with key industry players; attend conferences and trade shows as participant or speaker to increase SGS visibility in the industry.
  • Monitor the competition’s products/services development and activities
  • Participate / contribute to the annual budget planning process
  • Responsible to deliver (or exceed) budget (revenue + profit) for North America Connectivity.
  • Planning and managing the resources (equipment and personnel) of the division.
  • Implement and maintain company quality system.
  • Provide effective leadership to management team.
  • Contribute and communicate the vision and strategy for business operations.
  • Create and maintain company culture.
  • Recruitment of staff to meet division needs.
  • At all times, adopt a safe behavior by exercising due regard for the health and safety of SGS employees and clients, in line with SGS OI/HSE policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related disciplines AND
  • Master’s degree in science or business administration AND
  • 10  years experience in a multinational organization AND
  • 5 years general management of budgeting and managing a P&L
  • Language Skills: English Advanced
  • Mathematical Skills: Advanced
  • Reasoning Skills/Abilities: Advanced level required
  • Proven interpersonal skills for effective work with client services teams, to include cross cultural sensitivities. Customer focused capable of building trust, value others and communicate effectively.
  • A thorough understanding of the connectivity regulations and connectivity market landscape in North America. 
  • Knowledge of lab operations for large, medium and small labs using different laboratory systems.
