Job Description:

The Senior Project Engineer undertakes project design, implementation, factory acceptance test phases, and builds documents for our customers according to agreed requirements described in the sales order. The Engineer supports the delivery of  Engineer to Order (ETO) projects related engineering results and is responsible for work they're leading.

Success in this position requires the candidate to work efficiently in both a collaborative and independent environment, must be safety conscious, good interpersonal skills is a must both internally and externally with customers, high attention to detail is needed, and have a strong motivation for delivering project objectives.

As A Senior Project Engineer, You Will:

  • Review compression system design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, contract requirements, and related codes and specifications.
  • Consult with sales to settle degree of compliance with customer specifications and design requirements.
  • Review and interpret codes and standards (NFPA, AWS, IBC, etc. ) for system compliance.
  • Lead project design engineering and engineering support for packaged system orders from inception to completion including field start-up support.
  • Make system component selections while generating a project Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID).
  • Review and approve production drawings, adding recommendations to improve design, reduce costs or increase production efficiency. 
  • Chip in as a technical resource to the shop, customers, sales, and other departments to address and resolve questions and problems. 
  • Confer with vendors to investigate sources of special equipment, material or devices.
  • Acquire quotes and prepare requisitions for same.
  • Participate on multi-functional teams to address new design issues and resolve problems to ensure the continuous, ongoing improvement of processes and methods.

Required Education, Experience and Skills: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant fields with 5-10 years of engineering experience.
  • Ability to understand and address a wide variety of technical problems with little mentorship.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely in writing and other presentation formats.
  • Working experience with AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD software.
  • Must be an outstanding teammate, willing to learn from experienced staff and capable of introducing positive changes.
  • Ability to travel 10-15%.
  • Legal work authorization in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Previous experience with Compression systems or other pressure piping systems.
  • Experience with Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
  • Understanding of manufacturing BOM structure and ERP.
  • Previous experience in heat transfer products or thermodynamic systems.
  • Ability to coordinate and lead teams with varied strengths to implement changes and improvements. 

Collaboration First Hybrid Work Arrangements:

This role is hybrid eligible with the requirement to be in office at least three days per week. Colleagues are expected to demonstrate a collaboration first mindset, which is the understanding that teams will work together in-person and colleagues should be flexible to adjust their hybrid days based on business needs.
