What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers competitive pay commensurate with education and experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $28.00--$30.00/hourly based on experience and education. The City and County of Denver has announced furlough days, or unpaid days off, for most employees to meet a budget shortfall in 2025. There are two fixed furlough days for all limited (temporary positions with an end date) and unlimited (permanent) employees on August 29th, the Friday before Labor Day, and November 28th, the day after Thanksgiving. If you receive an offer for this position, your annual pay will determine whether you are required to take additional furlough days. Details will be discussed during the offer process for selected candidate(s).
Location & Schedule
In this position you can expect to work on site at Denver International Airport (parking is provided)
Shifts consist of four (4) 10-hour days
The primary shift will be either Swing Shift OR Graveyard Shift.
Shifts are yearlong commitments and are subject to change based on operational need.
Day Shift: 0500--1530 (5:00 AM--3:30 PM)
Swing Shift: 1430--0100 (2:30 PM--1:00 AM)
Graveyard Shift: 1930--0600 (7:30 PM--6:00 AM)
Shifts are not guaranteed and are subject to change
Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If staffing challenges occur, weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees will be required to work extended hours and/or alternative shifts (includes nights, weekends, and holidays)
Participates in mandatory snow removal duties

Denver International Airport’s Facility Maintenance Building team is seeking a talented Maintenance Technician (Building) to work alongside our highly skilled and world-class trades professionals. This team is responsible for all the comfort needs of our airport guests and tenants. Our team works on a wide variety of issues, from day-to-day preventative maintenance to emergency response repair in various environments.
Our ideal candidate has apprenticeship experience and is motivated by work that serves Denver communities. Additionally, they have:
Skill in reading, interpreting and applying information from blueprints, written guidelines and standardized work practices to a variety of situations.
Maintains records and prepares reports, which include estimating materials, labor, and equipment costs with supervisor or peers.
Skill in using a variety of snow removal equipment.
Ability to work in a physically demanding position with continuous lifting of objects that can weigh up to 25-50 pounds.
Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
Ability to use technology including email, internet, databases, eMedia, social media and other software.
Ability to pass a background check after the offer to hire has been made
