The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $115,000 annually and will depend upon experience.

This position requires a U.S Person or a person who can qualify for a Department of State or Department of Commerce License.

Position Summary:

The Senior Production Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing production plans that support customer commitments, revenue objectives, and operational performance goals. This role serves as a key liaison between Business Development, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to ensure alignment between customer demand, material availability, production capacity, and execution.

In addition to traditional planning responsibilities, the Senior Production Planner provides ownership and coordination for critical product lines and complex manufacturing processes within the Databus Components and Databus Systems business units. This role drives cross-functional execution, proactively identifies and mitigates schedule risks, and ensures successful delivery of high-priority customer requirements from order receipt through shipment.

The successful candidate will be an experienced production planning professional who takes ownership, drives execution, and works with a sense of urgency. This individual is a strong communicator who builds effective cross-functional relationships, proactively resolves issues, and is motivated to continuously improve processes and grow within the organization.

Key Position Accountabilities:

  • Convert customer backlog and bookings into executable manufacturing demand.
  • Maintain and manage Master Production Schedules to support customer delivery requirements, business unit objectives, and manufacturing capacity constraints.
  • Own planning and execution activities for assigned critical product lines, ensuring alignment between customer commitments, production schedules, material availability, and operational resources.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities among Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Customer Service, and Business Development to ensure alignment on priorities, execution risks, and successful delivery of customer commitments.
  • Lead schedule reviews and execution meetings to identify risks, bottlenecks, material shortages, capacity constraints, and recovery opportunities.
  • Drive execution by proactively identifying planning risks, removing obstacles, and ensuring timely resolution of issues impacting production schedules and customer commitments.
  • Monitor production performance against plan and implement corrective actions to resolve schedule disruptions and delivery risks.
  • Develop and execute recovery plans for past-due orders, constrained resources, and strategic customer requirements.
  • Analyze MRP, capacity, inventory, and demand data to support production planning decisions and business unit objectives.
  • Support new product introductions, engineering changes, customer priorities, and manufacturing process changes while maintaining schedule integrity.
  • Communicate schedule status, execution risks, mitigation plans, and key performance metrics to business unit leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Partner with Business Development and Customer Service to provide accurate lead-time estimates, delivery commitments, and customer status updates.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on schedule attainment, production flow, inventory optimization, and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as the primary planning focal point for assigned Databus Components and Databus Systems product lines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in production planning, supply chain, manufacturing operations, or related disciplines.
  • Experience working in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Aerospace, defense, electronics manufacturing, or regulated industry experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP, MRP, Master Scheduling, and capacity planning processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.
