Primary Focus

Responsible for the forward-looking rates strategy of GTM regulated assets.  Liaison with Business Development, Corporate Treasury, Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development, Finance, Operations and other key departments. 

Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the long-term rates strategy for GTM regulated assets, including assumptions from the long-range plan for revenues, costs, maintenance capital, integrity spending and allocations.

  • Responsible for the forward-looking assessment of GTM regulated assets, coordinating input from operations, commercial and other key departments, to analyze costs, revenues, contracts/volumes and overall health of the asset to determine optimum cost recovery and timing of rate cases.

  • In coordination with Asset Integrity, supports the capital allocation process for the approval and cost recovery of modernization and integrity spending

  • Responsible for developing all regulatory assumptions to support the Long Range Plan and 10 Year Plan

  • Provides research on (including but not limited to) regulatory intelligence, competitor rate and project certificate analysis, allocation and rate design, rate development best practices and key risk areas.

  • Serves as the department point of contact on earnings update Q&A, prepares presentations, submits board updates, prepares strategy presentations and creates departmental townhall agendas.

  • Assists in rate case schedule preparation and data request responses as needed.

Qualifications

  • Requires a comprehensive understanding of interstate and intrastate transmission businesses, regulatory, financing and a general understanding of operations and construction issues.

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics/Finance, Engineering, Law or equivalent.

  • Eight or more years of directly related experience

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems by using analytical skills to reach a logical conclusion.

  • Good knowledge of Enbridge and its natural gas assets

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment.

  • Travel to other offices, field locations, industry events or external client’s location.

  • Company paid international relocation is not offered for this role.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
