At a Glance:

This position will report to Senior Manager Fixed Asset & Warehouse Inventory Accounting and will be the main lead for Helmerich and Payne’s fixed asset, inventory, and lease technical accounting function.  Position will have the opportunity to develop and implement process improvement and automation as the company integrates with newly acquired international operations and continues to pursue international growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate accounting concepts to various stakeholders.

What you will do:

• Review and analyze fixed asset transactions to determine proper accounting treatment.

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to fixed assets.

• Monitor and analyze fixed asset metrics to support decision-making and strategic planning.

• Implement new accounting standards and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements as related to fixed assets, inventory, and lease accounting.

• Develop and maintain fixed asset accounting policies, procedures, and controls.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable accounting standards, including ASC 842.

• Participate in the implementation of new accounting software and systems.

• Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation during audits.

• Support ad hoc projects as assigned by leadership and assist others when needed.

What you need:

• Bachelor's or higher degree in accounting.

• CPA with Big 4 Accounting experience preferred.

• Strong understanding of ASC 842 and lease accounting principles.

• Proficiency in accounting software and lease management systems.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
