This role is a part of New Shepard, a reusable suborbital rocket system designed to take astronauts and research payloads past the Kármán line – the internationally recognized boundary of space. Through operational reusability, New Shepard supports our mission of lowering the cost of access to space.
As part of a passionate and accomplished group, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team of configuration engineers, analysts, and data managers who support all aspects of New Shepard Configuration Management. Your team will be responsible for identifying and controlling changes to the New Shepard human flight certification baseline and performing analysis to support current New Shepard launch operations and future design iterations. Additionally, you will ensure that New Shepard is aligned with all company-level Configuration Management policies and will consistently work to refine requirements, processes, and tools throughout the lifecycle.
Being a standout colleague is a must; you will collaborate across team interfaces to enforce rigorous configuration management and change control standards. In addition, you will work with the design and program management teams to implement projects that provide positive returns and lower the cost to access space.

Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in engineering
- 8+ years of aerospace-related Configuration Management, Engineering, or operations experience on launch vehicles, spacecraft, or other highly regulated industry
- 4+ years of managing direct reports and projects or programs
- Strong experience in leadership, planning, and team development, in a fast-paced time accountable environment
- Strong communication and project management skills; able to coordinate, track, manage and prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks and jobs
- Excellent digital literacy with experience using a variety of management and planning software tools, including rapidly learning and applying new software tools, as required
- Proven track record of working successfully in multiple fields and evaluating technical recommendations
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong working relationships within the organization
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualification:

Master's Degree (M.S., M.E.) or higher in aerospace Engineering or related field
- Familiarity with launch vehicle or space vehicle design and operations
- Experience with change management tools and processes for embedded software-related product development
- Ability to excel, make decisions, lead, and implement solutions in ambiguous environments
- Involvement with test or launch operations
- Experience in a small company, startup, or growth transition environment
