What You Will Do:

The Market Access & Pricing team provides commercialization strategy and reimbursement services to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and diagnostics companies. Our client services range from pre-commercialization marketing strategies to working with managed care organizations to develop policies affecting the use and payment of our clients’ novel therapies or diagnostics.

Directors are key members of the Market Access team and contribute to all levels of the consulting process. In this role you will be accountable for growing and managing client relationships while managing client expectations.  You will become the client’s trusted advisor that contributes to the “key client” business development strategy.  You will be accountable to develop business with new buyers within key client/s, drawing upon industry and client connections as well as trends and Guidehouse solutions. As you sell and deliver great work you will also identify and evaluate issues of risk for both Guidehouse and for Guidehouse’s relationship with client.   You will oversee multiple projects simultaneously of all varying sizes and durations to ensure quality control and key client’s perceived value while supervising, mentoring and developing Guidehouse personnel.  You will also be involved in non- client related firm- building activities as a leader in the firm, those responsibilities include:

  • Support development and review of project deliverables to ensure proper framing of strategic issues, use of appropriate methods, and that documents are up to client standards

  • Facilitate client presentations and manage ongoing relationships

  • Actively participate in business development and project sales cycle

  • Manage and develop staff, including performance management

  • Create corporate- and product-level commercialization strategies for technologies in the early stages of the product development cycle

  • Lead qualitative research with payers and providers, including supporting the development of materials and facilitating discussions as required

  • Develop payer strategy including value proposition, payer segmentation, channel strategy, gross-to-net, etc.

  • Conduct pricing studies for new products

  • Perform market landscape assessments for our clients’ technologies and their competitors, which include evaluating clinical literature, health economic and outcomes literature, payer medical policies, payer formularies, and pricing dynamics

  • Travel is project dependent but averages 25-30% percent


What You Will Need:

  • BA/BS degree in Science, Biomedical Engineering, Healthcare, Business or related course of study

  • 8 plus years of prior work experience in the healthcare industry; experience in market access, reimbursement, pricing, and/or health economics is required, with transferrable management consulting experience

  • 4 plus years' experience managing the activities of a project team including workplan, staffing, deadlines scope and
