ARSIEM is looking for a Principal Network Engineer. This position will support one of our Government clients in Ft. Meade, MD.

Responsibilities

  • Research, gather requirements, develop use cases, and build prototype solutions for discovery mission customers with an eye toward corporate services adoption. 
  • Customer relations and use cases will drive the timetable and possibly development efforts to transition those users from an R&D environment to corporate services. 
  • Display innovative thinking with a knack for developing solutions within the realm of possibility for R&D efforts in a data center environment. 
  • Interact with personnel from various organizations inside and outside of Operations. 
  • Join the effort to architect/engineer open, component-based technological solutions in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, challenging environment for the customer. 
  • Perform Linux Admin and Application installation/config/setup duties in a prototype development and evaluation lab on the customer site. 
  • Work with integrated engineering, software and security teams as well as independently. 
  • Use a solid foundation of current technologies and learn new HW and SW technologies quickly. 
  • Interface with multiple customer POCs and brief customer leadership.  

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of general experience as a systems analyst, including five years of experience in systems analysis, engineering design, and communications applications on complex information systems, database management, using programming languages that support the systems, and knowledge of storage and retrieval methods.
  • Five (5) years of experience in systems analysis, engineering design, and communications applications on complex information systems, database management, the use of programming languages that support Sun Solaris, HP UNIX, Windows NT, Pascal or Delphi, Linux – Redhat, Windows XP, Databases, Sybase RDBMS, Oracle RDBMS, MS Access, Oracle Context, Oracle Forms, Powerbuilder, MS SQL Server, Indexed Sequential Access Method (ISAM), and knowledge of storage and retrieval methods.  
  • Minimum IAT level II certification
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science may be substituted for 4 years of general experience as a systems analyst. 
  • A master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline, may be substituted for 2 years of general experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience providing network administration and technical support.
  • Experience verifying that all network systems are monitored and follow the latest governance and best practices.
  • Experience coordinating with internal and external teams, stakeholders and vendors regarding design, process and approaches to ensure all network systems are up to date, working efficiently, and meeting all mission requirements.
  • Experience validating and providing documentation, configurations, and diagrams
  • Hands-on experience configuring and fault-isolating network devices using multiple routing and networking protocols (e.g., BGP, SNMP, TCP/IP, Spanning Tree, VLANs, VPN, GRE, IPSEC, subnetting, NAT, ACLs, etc.)
  • Experience with multiple platforms and vendor technologies, including Dell, RedHat, nVIDIA, Nutanix, Amazon, Microsoft, ARISTA, Brocade, and Palo Alto
  • SALT, Ansible, Atlassian CM Tools experience
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Experience architecting and designing applications and complex technical solutions.
  • Development experience with a very strong aptitude and interest in learning innovative technologies
  • Proven experience installing and configuring applications
  • Familiarity with the customer's capabilities organization is preferable for this position. 
  • Active Sec+ or CISSP certification

Desired Skills (as many as possible)

  • Firewall configuration and security policies involving objects, rules, NATs, etc.
  • Utility program development using BASH scripts
  • Familiar with commercial cloud environments like AWS and AZURE
  • Familiarity with security mandates like STE/STN
  • Docker and NVIDIA Docker Containers
  • Kubernetes and Rancher
