The ARINC GLOBAL Network (AGN) system is comprised of several private data centers and connects to the far reaches of the globe, in almost every country providing aviation, airport, government, and transportation connectivity. AGN provides private networking in a highly reliable, secure and available world-wide network architecture for Collins Aerospace IMS mission critical aviation, transportation, and airports customers.

The successful candidate will serve as a member of the ARINC Global Network Engineering team, responsible for and engaging in the design, development, testing, evaluation and administration of network security and communication technologies products and solutions in support of the ARINC Global Network. The candidate must be familiar with cybersecurity/security methodologies and concepts and technologies as they apply to network and cloud infrastructures. The candidate will be responsible for collaborating with Corporate Security Teams for the planning, development, implementation and management of the overall AGN system security strategy. Candidate must be highly motivated, able to work in a collaborative team environment, as well as independently.

What You Will Do:

  • You will work onsite 5 days a week at our Annapolis, MD site.
  • You will serve as a technical member on projects that contain moderate to highly complex environments, utilizing high availability concepts.
  • You will develop and implement project plans within budgetary, schedule and resource constraints.
  • You will collaborate closely with other network engineers, developers, and stakeholders for the development of technical design solutions.
  • You will capture, analyze, decompose and create requirements for infrastructure security systems, products and subsystems of moderate complexity.
  • You will use an interdisciplinary approach, focusing on customer needs and business requirements, to design, develop, document, test and maintain network security systems ranging from the straightforward to moderately complex.
  • You will integrate hardware and software components into the system test and field environments.
  • You will author, review and maintain documentation during all phases of the system design life cycle as appropriate and specified within documented process and procedure (Project Plans, Estimates, Requirements Documentation, Operational Scenarios, Design Documentation and Drawings, Sys Acceptance Test Plans, etc…).

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Must have prior experience with large scale Wide Area Network Infrastructure environments comprised of routers, switches, firewalls, security appliances and applications.
  • Must have experience with troubleshooting issues within infrastructure systems
  • Must have prior experience analyzing system documentation.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with network and applications management concepts
  • Experience with technologies and techniques in a large LAN/WAN environment (SNMP v1/v2/v3, polling/traps, Syslog and Netflow)
  • Experience with the collection and analysis of firewall and network logs, host system logs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) alerts to identify malicious actors.
  • Experience with computer exploitation methodologies and data correlation through the use of a System Information and Event Management (SIEM).
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with firewall platforms, specifically Cisco ASA and/or Palo Alto Networks (including Panorama).
