Job Description Summary : Under general direction provides consultation to business unit and IT management and staff at technical level on all phases of the project development cycle. Designs major systems and their subsystems utilizing an understanding of available technology, tools and existing designs. Works closely with client management to identify and specify the complex business requirements. No direct management responsibilities, but is accountable for the effectiveness, quality and timeliness of project design decisions and how easily these designs can be implemented. Experienced, functional area expert with technical and/or business knowledge and functional expertise. Must be competent to work at a technical level of all phases of system design and implementation.
Job Description : Major Duties :
- Provide consultation to business unit and IT management and staff at ta high technical level on all phases of the project development cycle.
- Designs, codes or configures, tests, debugs, deploys, documents and maintains applications using a variety of software development toolkits, testing/verification applications and other tools, while adhering to specific development best practices and quality standards.
- Work with solution and technical architects to prepare technical specifications from which programs will be written or configured, and validate proposed applications align with both the architectural design and the business needs.
- Responsible for troubleshooting and issue analysis, as well as coding, testing and implementing software enhancements.
- Act as subject matter expert on all aspects of the data architecture, including data orchestration, large data processing, security & scalability
- Guide and mentor development teams on modern data engineering & design best practices. Perform code reviews on components delivered by the team.
- Work with business owners and IT stakeholders to understand business and functional requirements to design data & integration solutions.
- Analyze and resolve application performance bottleneck using metrics from monitoring tools.
- Designer for systems and their subsystems utilizing a thorough understanding of available technology, tools and existing designs.
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication.
- Consult with business unit partners to determine the most effective computer utilization to solve business problems or address business needs.
- Help direct systems projects, including project planning, management status reporting, systems specifications and implementation.
- Communicate with various business areas and outside vendors, consultants, and clients regarding automation needs.
- Help ensure compliance with all audit requirements including change control procedures and data security.
- Coordinate with application vendors and vendor support teams for incident triaging/resolution and for periodic application upkeep via. Patches
- Track application EOL/EOS status and work with Enterprise Architect on remediation measures
- Track vulnerabilities and other risk items with the application and underlying tech stack
Knowledge :
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- In-depth knowledge of the system development life cycle, the client area's functions and systems, and applications program development technological alternatives
- Analytical ability, strong judgment and management skills, and the ability to work effectively with client and IT management and staff.
- Highly flexible and adaptable to change.
- Leadership and organizational skills are required to help determine the Business Unit's goals, resources needed, and help assess and assist in the development of the skills of the staff.
Experience :
- Associate/bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science or other relevant fields.
- Minimum 8-10 years of extensive work experience in Java, J2EE, Spring boot, REST and JMS 1.1 specification.
