About the Team 

The Core Analytics Team is a centralized function to provide data-driven insights to business and products. We collaborate closely with our Product and Engineering teams to deliver the best experiences to our customers and maximize the value proposition for the business.

 

About the Role 

Roku is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our Core Analytics team and focus on our Ads Manager business. With a focus on creating impact, you will collaborate with business partners, product managers, and engineers to solve challenging business/analytical problems. This role will play an integral part in influencing business decisions by identifying trends, developing measurement frameworks through designing A/B tests or leveraging causal inference methods, and creating customer segmentation based on behaviors and CLV to provide actionable insights and recommendations for targeting strategies. You will own problems end-to-end, delivering insights and models to drive customer conversions and building data pipelines, dashboards, and automated reports to support them. The successful analyst will tell a compelling data story that reads beyond the numbers and provides strategic insights. Being a thought partner to our executive business leaders, good communication and presentation will be a crucial aspect of this role.

For New York Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $132,000-$254,000 annually.  Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.  This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.

This role is hybrid (Monday - Thursday) and located in New York City.

 

What you'll be doing:

  • Build reporting data pipelines and dashboards to ensure stakeholders can access accurate, timely, and actionable insights
  • Design and execute A/B tests
  • Work directly with stakeholders to understand key business questions that will accelerate the Ads Manager business 
  • Analyze structured and unstructured data and communicate insights to help stakeholders solve business problems, identify trends and make data-driven decisions 
  • Develop analytics tools (models, alerts, testing frameworks, etc.) to understand what drive the success of the Ads Manager product
  • Deliver presentations to clearly and effectively communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders 
  • Translate complex technical topics into clear business recommendations  
  • Provide feedback directly to leadership and stakeholders across the company on performance of various initiatives and untapped opportunities 

 

We're excited if you have:

  • A bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of advanced analytics experience or a Masters/Ph.D. with 3+ years of experience
  • Strong SQL skills, and experience with BI tools like Looker
  • Experience in R or Python
  • Deep knowledge of experimental design and causal inference methods & expertise in A/B testing 
  • Experience with forecasting models such as SARIMA, Prophet, TFT, etc.
  • Experience in data management, analytics, data science and reporting
  • Highly independent and able to manage relationships with stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with strong data visualization and action-oriented narrative for stakeholder and executive audiences
  • A desire to proactively identify opportunities and propose solutions
  • Have a bias towards action in resolving issues and identifying opportunities
