The Sr. Manager Category Sales Planning is the sales planning and strategy expert for Tate’s for our NDSD business and represents the sales function in the development of all commercial planning relating to these assigned businesses. The Sr. Mgr. Category Sales Planning is responsible for the co-development with Sales/Marketing of an effective sales/trade strategy, commercial plan, selling stories, and the execution of plans.
The Sr. Manager Category Sales Planning is jointly responsible, with the marketing department, for establishing strategic and tactical trade goals and in translating these goals into specific programs that will insure the achievement of their portfolio’s annual revenue and profit plan.

Job Responsibilities
• Managing Relationships with Field Sales teams and Cross-Functional Teams for assigned portfolio: Delivers against commitments by responding quickly and effectively to requests and issues. Effectively communicates with business partners.
• Strategic Planning: Partner cross-functionally (internal and external) to create a commercial annual plan for designated business. Lead business analysis process in partnership with brand and Shopper Insights using consumer/shopper/and point of sale data on designated brands/segments, in order to deliver key insights and compelling selling stores to support annual plans.
• Financial Acumen: Makes financially sound proposals in collaboration with marketing and field customer teams in support of achieving the annual plan leveraging analysis and insights.
• Activation Management: Identifies trends and drivers in the category and uses them to recommend and communicate appropriate programs, capitalizing on opportunities within the business to maximize results.
• Insights: Understanding and application of shopper data and insights as a means of making business decisions.
• Syndicated Data: Proven ability to analyze and leverage Syndicated data (Nielsen or equivalent), Customer POS Data, SPARK Shipment History, and Shopper Data (including panel) to find business opportunities.
• Other Applications: Proficient in MS Office, especially Outlook, Power Point, Excel, and Word.
Education:
Bachelors’ (4 year) degree
Functional competencies:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Sales, Sales Planning, Marketing or related functions
Competencies / Abilities
• Must have thorough knowledge of company products, sales and marketing procedures and policies.
• Must be well organized to manage and keep organized multiple projects/tasks
• Must have highly developed project management and analytical skills.
• Direct account selling and sales management experience preferred.
• Ability to establish relationships with both customers and with internal functions.
• Complete understanding of sales policies and organization skills.
• Should have knowledge of trade deals, programming and trade spending as well as experience with a broad base of retail customers (chain and wholesaler).
• Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation (PowerPoint/verbal) skills are mandatory.
The base salary range for this position is $137,300 to $188,825; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
