GDIT is seeking a Program Manager to join our program supporting the biomedical research community for our customer with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) at the National Institutes of Health.
Responsibilities:
- Manages the overall execution of NHLBI IT support services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objective
- Supervises and mentor teams of IT professionals, project managers, engineers and architects to foster technical excellence and operational readiness.
- Oversees the operations of the Service Desk, Configuration Management, and Infrastructure Operations
- Managing and operating an IT infrastructure (on prem and multi cloud infrastructure) for a premier biomedical research organization serving both the intramural and extramural research communities
- Implements project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, SAFe) to ensure efficient project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closeout.
- Maintains and regularly updates a searchable library of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all tasks
- Ensures timely delivery and high standards of quality for all deliverables
- Recommends process improvements
- Facilitates regular communication and reporting on program status, risks, and issues to ITAC, OM, and NHLBI leadership.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience managing large-scale IT programs.
- Experience managing federal contracts
- Experience working in a biomedical research, or healthcare setting.
- 5+ years experience with ITIL and Agile/SAFe methodologies.
- Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills with a track record of improving operational efficiency.
- PMP
- Certified Scrum Master
