40Position Summary
Our group is interested in understanding mechanisms underlying how visceral organ function is regulated in the brain and how it influences emotional wellbeing. We utilize scRNA &ATAC-seq, molecular and neuroanatomical tools to obtain comprehensive understanding of how the brain interprets, adapts, and responds to signals from the peripheral organs during normal and pathological states and how it shapes our emotions.This position is excellent opportunity to interested applicant in obtaining training in state-of-the-art experimental techniques and broad scientific tools applied in molecular and systems neuroscience. Candidate should be motivated, meticulous and passionate about the research in our group. Should also be able to work collaboratively as part of a team and have basic trouble shooting skills and an ability to maintain and organize all the records. A willingness to taken on new challenges and learn new skills is fundamental.
Assists with laboratory duties in a research setting; performs routine tests with direction from the supervisor, manager or higher-level technician.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists the investigator or higher-level technician with research studies, experiments and assays, including collection of data, preparation of solutions and setup and maintenance of equipment.
- Assists with experiments using behavioral, genetic, molecular and surgical approaches, such as mouse behavioral tests, surgeries, in situ hybridization, immunohistochemistry, and microscopy.
- Assists with mouse colony management and genotyping.
- Maintains files on research and assists with data entry.
- Assisting with general lab maintenance and cleaning.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
- Works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.Ā
- Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.
Required Qualifications
