About the role

You will be the leader of a key tooling development team for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).  Responsible for services which are used in the prediction, detection, and mitigation of major incidents. You will be managing data analysts, software developers, program and product managers, as well as, working with other managers on overall roadmaps for improving overall customer experience thru less service impact.   You must be a self-organized, disciplined software development leader with experience in building highly scalable, distributed, cloud-based services. In this role you will be responsible for building a team, coordinating the design, and approval of a new OCI services, and delivering a team culture that focuses on the fundamental principles of SDLC, with an emphasis on testing, quality assurance, and toil-free operations.  Strong collaboration & communications skills are a must as you will work across organizational boundaries and frequently collaborate with OCI senior leadership.  Though not relevant initially, you will be delivering a service that requires 24x7x365 support, so a passion for operations and on-call availability will be required.  You will have program management support, but ultimately you are responsible for your outcomes, so anticipate building and driving an Agile development culture that not only tracks progress, but fosters innovation, team ownership and iterative delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership in detection and software services health data used for responding to and resolving major incidents
  • Generate reports and metrics to be used in progress meetings and goal setting.
  • Ability to multi-task and solve multiple trouble issues simultaneously in a high stress environment while maintaining a professional tact.
  • Collaborate with others to resolve problems, handle requests and manage issues across multiple locations.
  • Identifies opportunities and takes ownership for automation and/or continuous improvement of software associated with Incident Detection and Management best practices
  • Recruit, hire and develop the best software developers in the industry       

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in managing large teams of software developers, project managers and program managers. 
  • 10+ years of experience in development at least one modern object-oriented programming language such as Java, Python
  • Have broad and deep knowledge of data analytics, cloud infrastructure and related technologies. Certification is a plus.
  • Experience in not only development but technical troubleshooting, with broad expertise in cloud core infrastructure technologies (e.g. server, compute, storage, network, authentication, databases)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail 

Preferred Qualifications

  • ML, Big Data / Data Analytics
  • Java / Python (Programming Language)
  • Docker / Kubernetes / Spark (or other big data software development)

US: Hiring Range: from $84,700 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
